As a resident of Tennessee, you should take the following steps to ensure your decision to become a donor is carried out:
- Sign up online now at www.tndonorregistry.org
AND/OR
- Indicate your wishes at the Department of Safety on your driver's license, permit or state ID when you apply for or renew it. You must check "yes" to organ donation EVERY TIME you renew, or your name will be removed from the state donor registry.
Tennessee does not require family consent to carry out your decision to be an organ, eye or tissue donor. However, keeping everyone informed will help avoid any confusion or delays.
